TabStash — Privacy Policy

TabStash ("the extension") is a zero-backend, privacy-first tab manager for Google Chrome. This page explains, in plain language, what data TabStash handles and what it does not.

Summary

TabStash does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. It has no server, no analytics, and makes no network requests of any kind. Everything the extension stores lives only inside your own browser.

What data is stored, and where

When you stash a tab, TabStash saves the tab's title, URL, and favicon locally using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is never sent to TabStash's developer or any third party
• Is never uploaded to any server, since TabStash has none
• Is only accessible to the TabStash extension on your own browser profile

Permissions used

• tabs — used only to read the list of currently open tabs so they can be stashed, and to reopen them when you restore a session. TabStash does not read the content of your web pages.
• storage — used only to save your stashed sessions locally via chrome.storage.local.

TabStash requests no host permissions and cannot access or read the content of the websites you visit.

Export / Import

The dashboard's Export feature lets you download your stashed sessions as a JSON file, entirely under your control. The Import feature reads a JSON file you choose from your own device. Neither process involves any server or third party — both happen entirely inside your browser.

Third parties

TabStash does not use any third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics tools. No data is ever shared with anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy is ever updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly.
